The OIC Gateway project operates by Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) to support and develop Thai insurance industry. This project aims to change the public's perception of the insurance industry from an outdated industry, complication, hard to understand and use to modern products and services and easy to access and use.
This project will help to link information from various sources, such as insurance companies across the countries through the information center of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), which has a high standard of security and information security. It was designed and operated in accordance with various legal requirements, such as the personal data act in order to facilitate automatic data linking in all sectors. It can be compared liked building a high-speed expressway which reaches everywhere as insurance innovations and services will be able to run faster. It will adjust the image of insurance to be more modern; also, make public sector feel safe of purchasing insurance products.
“The OIC Gateway project” or “Super APP project of Thai insurance” is available today. People can add Line Official Account @OICConnect to access the basic information about their insurance easily. After verification (eKYC) with their selfie and ID card then also verification by the telephone number (OTP). Once the verifications are done, this Super App will connect API to retrieve the information of the people's policy from all of insurance companies in Thailand. Finally, people can check all their policy information via OIC LINE official safely, easily, and conveniently (End-to-end encryption).
In the business sector, every insurance company can develop, build on, create various service systems whether it is a product offering system, inspection systems, e-SelfService systems, etc. It will be able to easily reach their own customers and to reduce the cost of developing a service channel for their own customers. Thus, the company can create innovations to improve service levels quickly.
The OIC Gateway project is for the general public. It helps every individual to verify their insurance policy information through LINE Official Account, which is a secure connection for data transmission. There is an End-to-End Encryption process to protect along the way during data in/out transmission of information. People who can check their own policies must register and verify their identity through the OIC Gateway system and must be approved by the staff in all cases. Then the system will retrieve the policy information of people who have been registered. from insurance companies participating in the project to store a backup (Caching) at the database of the Office of Insurance Commission and show the details of the policy to the people.
